David Kearney, a proud member of the Professional Golfers Association since 1990, has been involved in high performance sport as a player, coach and parent. As performance lead for the Irish Ladies Golf Union (ILGU), David introduced a multi-disciplinary approach that concentrated on specialist performance roles within the ladies game to help develop some of Ireland's most promising athletes.

As well as being an active swing and golf coaching tutor at the Belfry, David has had the honour of representing the Confederation of Professional Golfers and the R&A on golf missions and speaking engagements in Panama, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Hungary, Chile, Bahrain and Ukraine focusing on high performance programs and golf development.

David officially finished his duties as Performance Director for the ILGU in August 2021 after leading Team Ireland in women's golf at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Since then, David has been focusing on building a performance management company, Sigmoid Sports, whilst also publishing his first book, "The Golfing Buddha: A Spiritual Journey to the Olympic Games" which charts his journey through sport.

With journal entries from as far back as 2003, right up until the end of the 2021 Olympic Games, David leans on some Buddhist wisdom in his book, which also includes wonderful coaching contributions from some of the world's best. The intention of "The Golfing Buddha" is to become a useful tool for coaches, parents and players to help them maximise these ever-changing relationships.
