Mr. Bewley in Berlin: Aspects of the Career of an Irish Diplomat, 1933-1939 explores Charles Bewley, a controversial Irish diplomat.

Charles Bewley was an outspoken champion of Nazi Germany and an anglophobe. In this book, Bewley's role as a professional diplomat within the framework of the Department of External Affairs is assessed and the efficiency of Irish foreign policy management in the 1920s and 1930s is critically examined. An evaluation of Bewley's political persona is also undertaken.
