Kylemore Abbey is located in Co. Galway, approximately five miles from Letterfrack. It is set in a beautiful location, on the shore of a very picturesque lake.

This book, written by local historian, Kathleen Villiers Tuthill, chronicles the history of the Abbey from 1862 - 2002. It discusses the time when the abbey was in fact a castle, owned by Mitchell Henry to when it was taken over by the nuns.

This is a very interesting and well researched book is a must for all of those who have visited the abbey or who are interested in the area and its local history.
