RODDY O’SULLIVAN has been writing children’s stories for twenty years. After a long career in

medicine he now devotes himself to lecturing and campaigning for the protection of Ireland’s

lakes rivers and waterways. He enjoys playing the guitar, fishing and birdwatching. His lifelong

interest in past civilizations and mythology were the inspiration behind his current west of Ireland

saga, a three-book series comprising modern day adventures for 10 to 14-year-olds, individually

set in Westport House, Clare Islands and the Aran Islands. The second publication, Clare

Island’s Dark Secret tells of the unexpected meeting of today’s world and that of Ireland’s

prehistoric colonists, the mysterious Fomorians.
