This journal practices secular mindfulness and focues on the promotion of positive mental health and wellbeing for primary school children. The author has experienced first-hand, the various levels of anxiety among children and how it can affect:
- the ability to form relationships with others
- the ability to focus and concentrate
- interrupted sleep patterns
This journal was created to help address these issues and to provide children with helpful and supportive techniques, that teach coping skills in a fun and meaningful way.
This journal links in with the Irish Primary School Curriculum and incorporates the strands of 'Myself' and 'Myself and Others' of the SPHE Curriculum.
The more children practice mindfulness and gratitude, the better they become at it and the greater the benefits gained. Studies prove that by practicing mindfulness and gratitude daily for as little as two weeks, the benefits can last up to six months!
This journal is suitable for children aged 7 to 12 years of age. However, as every child is different, this age range is only provided as a guideline.
