Foreword

Matthew Quinn is a native of Westport, County Mayo. He started to write poetry some years ago as a challenge to himself, and it has led him to a place where light and darkness can co-exist.

He writes about personal things that matter to him and at times his anguish and pain are there for all to see, but it is not all about the dark side, there is humour to be found if you look hard enough.

Matthew likes to walk around Westport saying hello to all he meets and writing poems about the people who have helped shape his town and make it the place everyone loves to visit.

Matthew hopes you enjoy his collection of poems and maybe, just maybe, feel a little of the emotion that helped create them.
