Today the airport employs nearly 130 people and supports about 8 jobs in the region. Total spending by inbound tourists is estimated at over €60 million, and in 2005 it paid €8.7 million to the Exchequer in Income Tax and Prsi. By 2020 the Airport, it has been predicted, will be contributing €200m annually in tourism spending and supporting between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs.
