Seosamh O'Dalaigh is the founder of the Yawl Art Gallery/Painting School which was established in 1984 and is situated on The Great Western Greenway between Mulranny and Achill.
This book features sketches and paintings from my sailing adventures to the islands of Achill, Clare Island and Inishbofin. Capturing magical moments in time on the Wild Atlantic Way.
"Over the years many friends and artists on my workshops have suggested publishing a book of my sketches and paintings. The drawings in this book are only a sample of the many diaries collected on Achill, Clare Island and Inishbofin. I have always carried my sketch book and watercolours. Working outdoors in all weathers, it was important to work quickly, so as to capture the mood of a scene e.e. light, dark, tone etc., making notes on colour and detail. Most of my diaries are constructed this way. Some paintings were painted onsite and others later made from sketches in my studio. I think of painting as a way of capturing moments in time and recording history."
