Tom Higgins is a retired primary school teacher, who lives in Castlebar, Co. Mayo. This is a book of his landscape photographs mostly taken in County Mayo in recent years.

Tom is attracted to the landscape of Mayo for its beauty and magnificence. Depending on the atmosphere, time of day and season, this landscape can evoke a variety of moods, from the tranquil and calm, to gloom and solitude. A photograph can reveal the seemingly most desolate place as a thing of beauty, to be admired and cherished, thus raising one's spirit in wonder and awe.

My wish for this book is that it may aid viewers to value and appreciate the wonder and magnificence all around us.
