Sean Cannon’s photographic journey with Achill Island began as a young boy travelling with his mother and father from County Monaghan to visit his grandfather in the West of Ireland. Walking Keem Bay and Keel Beach with his family opened his photographic eye to the western light. Back in Monaghan his amateur interests grew and after many summers visiting Achill, in 1989 Sean and Margaret Cannon established the home of the Western Light Art Gallery.Across the arc of his photographic life Sean Cannon brings you Achill Island in its many moods.
