County Clare Studies: Essays in Memory of Gerald O'Connell, Seán Ó Murchadha, Thomas Coffey and Pat Flynn. 

This collection of essays has been assembled to honour the memory of Gerald O'Connell, Seán Ó Murchadha, Thomas Coffey and Pat Flynn, four Claremen who in the course of their lifetimes made an important contribution to the study of their county's past. The different essays in the volume, which are contributed by friends and co-workers, are accompanied by a selection from the work previously published by the four. The diversity of the topics discussed reflects the wide range of their interests as well as the specialities of the different contributors. The collection as a whole forms a body of work that will be of interest both to the scholar and the general reader and of itself constitutes a significant addition to our knowledge of County Clare's past.
