Clane Town is one of the smaller towns in County Kildare. Due to its proximity to Dublin, Clane has grown in recent years from being a rural village to a fast developing and increasingly populated town. It has a rich history and the local community are very active and involved in keeping local traditions alive.

Clane: The Village We Knew is a combined effort by retired schoolteacher and vice-principal Bryan Sammon and many local history enthusiasts, Paddy Behan, Liam Burke and Seamus Cullen to name a few. This book will bring together the unified memories, under various themes such as: education, music and sport, of different people living in and around the Clane area.
