About the authors

Eva Naughton from Belcarra, County Mayo – and now living in Ballyheane – is a scientist in the multinational pharmaceutical industry and founder of Lab-aDab-aDoo, a business promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and STEAM (adding Arts to STEM) through fun science, arts and crafts events for children. She has three great helpers – Lauren, Andy and Kate Connaughton from Turlough, Castlebar.

Inspired by her passion for science, creativity, and her black Labrador Alfie, she wrote this book. Her goal is to inspire young minds by making science fun and accessible, encouraging curiosity and innovation from an early age.

Eva enjoys life in Ballyheane with her husband Brendan and their twin daughters, Leah and Katie.

Aidan Gilmore is a native of Meelick, Swinford, County Mayo but currently resides in Westport. He works as a scientist in a multinational pharmaceutical company. He is an advocate for the importance of educating children and is particularly interested in fostering children’s interest in science. As an animal lover, the book combines two of his passions – his dogs are Alfie’s little helpers.
